Counseling Services
Much of my counseling is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. When we are faced with struggles in our lives, we have options on how we handle the struggles. We can avoid the issue or we can accept it and pave our way towards betterment. By accepting our struggles and making that commitment to change, we are able to learn and grow as a human. My goal is to be able to guide you through this process in a more mindful state.
I offer individual, couples, and family counseling. While I am aware of the many benefits of group therapy, I do not offer groups at this time. I have experience working with individuals on a variety of different topics. However, I am not always the best fit. Counseling is most definitely not a "one size fits all" approach. That being said, I am also happy to provide referrals in those cases.
Counseling sessions are often covered by your health insurance, but it is always best to check your benefits prior to so that there are no surprises. For information on cost, insurance, and the such please check out the FAQ section.
Individual Therapy
"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself in any direction you choose."
--Dr. Seuss
Sometimes we are faced with obstacles and challenges in life that are hard to overcome.Â
I provide counseling for a variety of reasons including depression, anxiety, relationships, self-esteem, life transitions, grief, and fertility related issues.
Couples/Family Therapy
"Conflict is growth trying to happen."
--Helen LaKelly Hunt
Relationships take some work! And families are always going through transitions. Couples/family therapy may be an option for a variety of different reasons. Some more common areas of concern include finances, infidelity, children/parenting, and poor communication. Maybe your relationship needs a 'pick me up'. Perhaps the blended family is not blending so well. Or a couple may just want to better understand each other. Whatever the case may be, sometimes an outside perspective can be quite helpful. I am currently in the process of Gottman training.
Group Therapy
"Individually, we are one drop. Together, we are an ocean."
